Prof. (Dr.) Amol Deo Chavhan is a distinguished legal academic, administrator, and Professor of Law, currently serving in the dual leadership roles of Dean of Academics and Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai.
With a career spanning over 15 years within the prestigious institutions, Dr. Chavhan has been instrumental in shaping academic policy and institutional quality. At MNLU Mumbai, he oversees the university’s academic roadmap as Dean and spearheads quality enhancement initiatives as the IQAC Director.
His previous tenure at the National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam, was marked by significant administrative contributions, where he served as:

- Proctor-cum-Provost
- Convenor of Examinations
- Convenor, Centre for Career Counselling and Capacity Building
Dr. Chavhan is a recognized authority in Criminal Law (BNS & BNSS), the Law of Torts, and Prison Administration. His scholarly output includes over 40 research articles and 5 book chapters published in prestigious national and international journals. A dedicated mentor, he has successfully supervised three Ph.D. candidates to the award of their degrees and currently serves as the Convenor of the Ph.D. Programme at MNLU Mumbai.
